May Ride Totals
I had 6 rides in May, totaling 122.75 miles. That’s 13 hours and 10 minutes of saddle time, yielding an average speed of 9.32 MPH. One of those rides was escorting a novice rider (who I did return intact and smiling) – if I don’t include that slower pace ride, my average is 9.55, so I have gotten a little faster from April. The big news though is the ride I took on May 16th. I did nearly every trail in the park, in 3 hours and 7 minutes. When my dusty singlespeed rolled into the garage, the cyclometer read 29.37 miles with an average speed of 9.42. That’s the longest all-dirt ride I’ve ever taken, and my fastest average ever on a 25+ mile ride.
I was planning on riding today to add one last long ride to the total, but the thick humid air and numerous home & work projects conspired to keep me indoors. At least I got to spend some more quality time with the new iMac.
