White Clay Creek State Park & Middle Run Trail Map

White Clay Creek and Middle Run Trail Map
I’ve created this comprehensive map of the White Clay Creek S.P. and Middle Run County Park and am offering it to the public as donationware. The trail system spans two parks, and offers roughly 30 miles of well-maintained singletrack which excellent for mountain biking and hiking.

There are several “official” park maps of the property, but many are not up to date (especially the ones posted in the kiosks), and they often do not contain trail names and information for the Middle Run trails (which are often the most confusing to navigate).

If my map helps improve your rides or hikes, please consider contributing something toward the map’s further upkeep and development. If you volunteer a few days per season to help with trail maintenance, consider the debt paid-in-full.

Enlarging sections of the map

To print enlargements of portions of the map, use the magnifying glass tool to enlarge and crop the map to the view you wish to use. Select “print”, and in the print dialog box click “Current View”, then under “Page Scaling” select “Fit to Printable Area”. That will print the view you currently have shown at a size which will fill the paper size of your printer. Thanks to Rod and Ray for figuring this out

Using layers in the PDF file

As I previously stated, this map contains a LOT of information, but I’ve given you the ability to “turn off” what you don’t want to see. You will need a current version of the free Adobe Acrobat viewer to use this feature.

In Acrobat, click on the “Layers” icon on the left side of the screen. You will see a listing similar to the one shown to the right. I’ve grouped all the elements of this map into categories which can be hidden or shown by clicking or unclicking the little eyeball in this menu. Once you only see the information you care about, press print, and you have your own customized map.

I have more layers planned for the future, such as layers to highlight popular loops, storm damage, cougar sightings, etc.
